The Field Files

A case is not a conclusion. These are the investigation themes and methods we are preparing, and the ground rules we will use to document what happens.

Where the trail
might lead.

These are research areas and possible stories, not claims that the Bureau has already investigated or verified anything.

Planning desk

East Texas Bigfoot

Regional reports, witness accounts, habitat context, and the perennial question of what made that sound in the tree line.

TYPE / CRYPTID RESEARCH
Potential investigation

Haunted Landmarks

Historic buildings, reported experiences, ordinary environmental clues, and the people who preserve the stories.

TYPE / PARANORMAL
Folklore archive

Appalachian Oddities

Regional folklore of the Smoky Mountains and neighboring communities, approached as history and living storytelling traditions.

TYPE / HISTORY & FOLKLORE

Archive status: No completed case reports have been published on this site yet. Once we investigate, a case file will identify observations, witness testimony, supporting sources, uncertainties, and later corrections.

Bureau standards

A strange noise
is not a verdict.

Our baseline: time-stamp recordings, record conditions and equipment, interview respectfully, compare explanations, and report uncertainty without dressing it up as certainty.

EMF and proximity devices measure electrical or environmental effects. An alert on its own does not establish a paranormal cause.

CASE REPORT / STANDARD FIELDS

Every proper file gets...

◼ Date and general location

◼ What happened / who observed it

◼ Media and recording context

◼ Conditions and control checks

◼ Ordinary explanations considered

◼ Unknowns, caveats, and corrections

Not proof. Documentation.
